Non-human publication: Automated validate/scan/sandbox/test → auto-approve or auto-reject/quarantine; fail closed. Owner reserved: policies, prohibited categories, emergency shutdown, exceptional account action. Ratings = verified runs; auto-suspend on reports/failure/security.
1. What this covers
This Free-Use License applies to published Cue versions and related public documentation that CueVanta makes available at no charge on cuevanta.com and Operator-controlled free-tier APIs.
It does not cover unpublished drafts, private registry items, Operator internals, trademarks, or third-party content that carries a different license notice.
2. License grant (default)
Subject to the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Marketplace Rules, and any version-specific notice:
CueVanta Free Public Grant v0 — for each Cue version marked Published after automated auto-approval (or Operator-authored Cues the platform publishes), the Contributor (or Operator, for Operator-authored Cues) grants every user a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable (except as needed to use the service) license to:
- Discover, inspect metadata, and evaluate the Cue;
- Run the Cue through CueVanta’s free-tier interfaces within published free quotas; and
- Use outputs generated for the user’s own lawful purposes,
provided the user does not reverse-engineer, scrape credentials, bypass quotas, or claim the Cue as their original work without attribution where the Cue requires it.
Default license is CueVanta Free Public Grant v0. SPDX swap later is owner-optional, not a launch blocker.
3. Ownership
- Contributors retain ownership of original Cue content they submit, subject to the Contributor Agreement.
- CueVanta, LLC and its licensors retain ownership of the platform, Operator-authored Cues, branding, and infrastructure.
- Publication does not sell or assign ownership to CueVanta, LLC unless a separate written assignment says so.
4. Version-specific grants
Licenses attach to a specific Cue version. Updating a Cue creates a new version that may carry a different license only if clearly labeled before publish. Prior versions keep the grant shown at the time they were published, unless lawfully withdrawn under the Reporting / Takedown process.
5. No fees
Use under this license is free. There are no royalties, marketplace commissions, or paid unlocks described here.
6. No warranty
Published Cues and the service are provided “AS IS.” Operator and Contributors disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Operator’s and Contributors’ aggregate liability arising from use of a published Cue under this license is limited to USD $0 (free service), except where liability cannot be limited (e.g., willful misconduct where mandatory).
8. Termination
Rights under this license for a Cue version end if you breach CueVanta policies, if the Cue is lawfully removed, or if Operator withdraws the version under Marketplace Rules. Sections 3, 6, 7, and 8 survive.
